Charlize Theron Is Still Ashamed of Her Too-Thin Eyebrows

Charlize Theron is still getting over over-plucked eyebrows, which is her worst beauty mistake. When asked what grooming secret she most regrets, the 48-year-old “Fast X” star said that her thin brows still throw her off.

“By far, the thin brows of the 1990s. “I’m still getting over it,” she told InStyle when asked about it.

Nearly 30 years ago, over-plucked, raised eyebrows were a huge trend around the world. Jennifer Lopez, 54, Jessica Alba, 42, and Kate Moss, 49, were among the celebrities who wore them.

The trend went out, but models like Cara Delevingne, who is 31 years old, brought back the look of bushy brows. But it seems to be coming back now, as model Bella Hadid, who is 26 years old, is showing off pencil-thin brows this summer.

In a different conversation with Allure magazine, Charlize said, “My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging.”

She said, though, that people think she’s had plastic surgery. “People think I got a facelift,” Charlize said. “What did she do to her face?” they ask. I’m like, “Damn, I’m just getting older!” It doesn’t mean I had bad work done on my face. This is just how things are.'”

She also disagreed with the idea that guys age “kind of like fine wines” and women age “like cut flowers.” “I hate that idea, and I want to fight against it,” Charlize said. But I also think that women want to age in a way that feels right to them. I think we all need to be a little more understanding of each other’s journeys.”

The mother of two, who adopted her daughters in 2012 and 2015, also said she will never change her appearance drastically for a movie role again, like she did when she gained weight for the 2018 movie “Tully,” which was about a mother who is so stressed out that she starts to believe she is being cared for by a young, cool nanny.

She said about how hard it was for her to lose the 50 pounds she gained for the part, “I called my doctor and told him, ‘I think I’m going to die because I can’t get rid of this weight,'” she said. And he said, “You’re older than 40. Don’t panic. Your metabolism isn’t as good as it used to be. Everyone doesn’t want to hear that.”
