Travis Kelce has long taken pleasure in his capacity to keep his personal and business lives separate.

Over the past few weeks, that talent has been put to the test.

Before the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears last month, news of the All-Pro tight end’s developing relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift broke. Since then, Kelce has established himself as a major newsmaker in his own right. He discovered that last week when photographers saw Swift leave his New York apartment the morning before the Chiefs faced the Jets, while other photographers were watching his home in the Kansas City region.

Kelce said on Friday that “we’re learning with the paparazzi taking photos all over the place,” but added that “it comes with it.” Simply keep breathing and taking pleasure in the now.

When Kelce addressed the media for the first time in weeks on Friday, he didn’t get into specifics regarding their relationship, which hasn’t been discussed much by either party. However, it is understandable why there has been such a strong spotlight on the pair considering that Swift twice showed up in a suite to see Kelce play, including with his mother Donna Kelce.

There is no better time than now for either of them.

As someone who is considerably closer to the finish of his career than the beginning, Kelce turned 34 on Thursday. The boost to his profile will undoubtedly benefit his post-football career. The Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and his brother’s podcast, “New Heights,” has experienced tremendous success. As a result, Kelce’s mustachioed face is now frequently seen in print and television ads for companies including State Farm, Hy-Vee, Pfizer, and Experian.

Swift’s “The Eras” tour is now on hiatus, but a movie about it will start showing in at least 8,500 cinemas in 100 countries the next week. The movie theater chain AMC Entertainment Holdings, which is located in a suburb of Kansas City, reported selling over $100 million worth of advance tickets and generating its biggest single-day ticket revenue ever.

The NFL and its broadcast partners are eager to capitalize on the current cultural moment.

When asked if he was shocked by the unexpected attention focused on him and his connection with Swift, Kelce responded, “It’s worldwide, bro. It’s definitely been enlarged.

Kelce has been working nonstop to support the Chiefs’ Super Bowl title defense. They are the favorites going into Sunday’s game against Minnesota after winning three in a row after dropping their opening game to Detroit. (It is unknown if Swift will attend.)

After Friday’s practice, Kelce remarked, “I felt like I was on top of the world after the Super Bowl and right now even more on top of the world.” I’m simply going to keep doing what I’ve been doing because, at the end of the day, I’ve always been quite excellent at compartmentalizing and staying focused in this building.

Kelce has, in fact, always balanced a life outside of football.

He co-starred in his own reality dating series called “Catching Kelce” in 2016. He has made numerous product and service pitches. Additionally, he has participated in a number of prestigious golf competitions, including a made-for-TV match versus NBA stars Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry shortly before the start of this season.

But none of it has ever had an impact on how he performs. Before being forced to leave the game against the Lions due to a hyperextended knee, Kelce had not missed a game due to injury since his rookie year. Since then, he has played in every game. Additionally, he has at least 1,000 receiving yards in seven consecutive seasons, which has led to eight Pro Bowl appearances and four first-team All-Pro nominations for him.

The Chiefs’ success has a lot to do with his success. They have won two of the three Super Bowls they have played in during the past four seasons, in addition to hosting the last five conference championship games and winning the last seven AFC West crowns.

But because of the aura Swift has given him, Kelce’s profile is now higher than it has ever been.

I understand that I caused this,” he admitted. “I’ve had the good fortune to enjoy it. The fact that nobody is upset about it (at least within the Chiefs) is all that truly matters. I’ve been quite excellent at compartmentalizing and ensuring that my attention is on winning the game, as I mentioned earlier, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
